Scholarships

One of the central missions of Shippensburg Rotary is to develop leadership and promote education among our youth. To that end, we sponsor a number of youth programs, including scholarships aimed at supporting students in their first year of post-secondary education, and sponsorships for Rotary's week-long youth leadership conference.

These programs are funded in part or in whole by the sponsors and participants of the Ned R. Fogelsonger Golf Tournament held every June by the Rotary Club of Shippensburg.

Both our academic and our vocational scholarships are listed on the Shippensburg Local Scholarship Application.

RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) is a week-long youth leadership conference for qualifying students between their Junior and Senior years of high school. Application deadlines are in early May, and the conference is held in mid-June.

Selection preference for scholarship candidates is given to those who demonstrate academic performance, financial need, leadership activities, and an understanding of the Rotary motto "Service Above Self."
